Lol. He also confused CB with Keaton in the middle there but he's definitely in LOVE with Christian! Loveliest tribute ever I wonder what line in Hostiles did he have in mind, though?

Slash Film have gotten some great scoop from Scott Cooper (during Antlers promotion), re C Bale! www.slashfilm.com/646438/antlers-director-scott-cooper-would-love-to-make-a-romantic-comedy-starring-christian-bale-exclusive/Antlers Director Scott Cooper Would Love To Make A Romantic Comedy Starring Christian Bale - FUll Quote: "You might be under the belief that Christian Bale has never and will never appear in a romantic comedy, probably since that's pretty much exactly what he came out and said a few years back when he basically said "American Psycho" is the closest he'll ever get to one. The Oscar-winning actor saying "I was asked to do a romantic comedy recently and I thought they'd lost their minds" sounds as definitive as it gets, although we beg to differ considering that incredible ABC Family promo for "Batman Begins" that aired some time ago. But that doesn't mean filmmaker Scott Cooper, the director of the upcoming horror film "Antlers" and who previously worked with Bale on 2017's "Hostiles," isn't game to make one with Bale anyway. As part of a larger interview with /Film's Jack Giroux, Cooper admitted that though this is his first formal entry into the horror genre, "Antlers" merely emphasizes what he's naturally gravitated towards for his whole career. "Hostiles" was billed as a revisionist Western, with Cooper telling /Film that: "Christian Bale and I did discuss 'Hostiles' as a horror film because of the inhumane treatment towards Native Americans, the horrors of Rosamund Pike, losing her entire family and the difficulties of living in the American west. This is all to say ... that I need to try my hand at humor." Not that anyone asked me, but what better way to reset than with a romantic comedy? Luckily, Cooper was posed this very same question and responded: "Christian Bale and Scott Cooper's rom-com. We have discussed it." "We all get something very different from Christian, but I try to write from a very internal place tapping into all of the things that I know make him the incredible man that he is and somebody with a very rich, rich interior life. I have to say, Christian reads all my scripts whether he's in them or not and sees my early cuts. I thanked him for 'Antlers.' He makes me a better filmmaker." So is the close bond the two have forged over the years enough to actually get Bale on board with a comedy of some kind? According to Cooper, it's more likely than you might think: "Yeah, we have discussed it. And quite frankly, some of my friends who were very, very well-known comic actors are much more intense in real life and Christian's very playful but intense on screen when he needs to be. With Christian, my hope is that we get to make far more movies than just the three that we're making, because he has so much range and we both have such similar sensibilities and comedy is something that we love. So, who knows, Jack? It may happen." There you have it, people. It's already bizarre enough that Bale will be joining the superhero world in "Thor: Love and Thunder," so how much weirder could it possibly be for him to jump on board a regular ol' comedy with Scott Cooper? Until then, you can catch Cooper's latest film, "Antlers," in theaters tomorrow, October 29, 2021. END QUOTE

A rom com named « The worst date « with Amy Adams about the awful date between a recently divorced guy and a proud single mom . They are totally opposite .The date lasts the night with catastrophic or funny situations but at the end ,They decided to go at a 2nd date because the other is not the asshole He/She thought . Classic but efficient

Griffin Gluck, the villain in Season 2 of Locke and Key TV show cites Bale as his favorite actor and an indirect influence on the role: collider.com/locke-and-key-season-2-hallea-jones-griffin-gluck-interview/"GLUCK: It was definitely a challenge. I’m not the most menacing person. I’m a small man. I am not a muscle-y man. I think everything was working against me, honestly. So, it was a lot of fun for me to find different ways to be menacing and different ways to show power or anger. When you have someone that’s my size and my stature, if I get real mad, you just wanna laugh. It’s not scary. It’s cute. And so, I had to find a way to get rid of that. What I drew from a lot was just watching movies about psychopaths and psychopathic tendencies, like Christian Bale in American Psycho. I’m not gonna say I drew a lot from him for this character, but I love Christian Bale as an actor and something that he said about how he prepared for American Psycho was that he watched Tom Cruise interviews. I found that to be the funniest thing. He talked about how, in Tom Cruise’s interviews, he would be a bubbly person on the outside, very friendly, and very approachable, but that he was just dead behind the eyes, and that terrified Christian Bale. He said that he drew a lot from that for American Psycho. That got me thinking about other ways that I could draw from psychopathic tendencies that are just scary and very subtle. The dead behind the eyes was a big thing. There’s a full grin smile where the eyes don’t change. The small minute details like that are what really helped me pull Gabe together with not flinching confidence, stature and posture, and not using my hands a lot when I talk. It’s very just straight deadpan with not a lot of movement. I just found fun ways to really sell the psycho inside of Gabe, which was fun for me."

Not exactly an industry mention but a fun story from an actor, Will Estes of Blue Bloods, who clearly admires him and almost met him www.looper.com/652305/will-estes-reflects-on-12-seasons-of-blue-bloods-and-working-with-tom-selleck-exclusive-interview/ "Q: Switching gears a little, and I know it was a small part and has been a while, but I wanted to ask you about your work on "The Dark Knight Rises." What did you learn from that experience? A: I only have stories I can't tell. [Laughs.] But it was a tremendous experience. Difficult, but tremendous. It was a lot of fun. If you blink, you miss me in the movie, I'll just put that out there. I auditioned with a big scene and when I got there, they said here, that's your line. And I was like, isn't there more? Where's the scene? And they were like, that's your line, and that was it. But it was obviously really exciting just to be there. I was standing next to Christian Bale in the bat suit one time. I think the suit was really uncomfortable, but I really wanted to talk to him because, you know, he's Christian Bale. And he's Batman. And so I was going to talk to him when he was standing there but he just seemed really uncomfortable. So, I went to talk to him and I decided against it. But then I went to talk to him again, and then a third time, and he raised a juice box — I guess that's like the only thing he could drink out of on the set. He took a sip out of like a little kid's juice box, you know? And I said, you know what, I'm not going to bother Christian Bale today. The guy is Batman. And so I never met Christian Bale, but I stood about 10 feet from him, and that was exciting. I was close. I was very close."

www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/winning-time-star-hadley-robinson-jeanie-buss-christian-bale-1235129284/ “ (Laughs.) Christian was one of the most gracious, kind actors I’ve ever worked with. We spoke the same language in the sense of knowing how to show up and behave on set. I’ve just never had a better scene partner, honestly, and I’ve had a million great scene partners. So I’m very, very lucky. But I really felt like he was some version of my father by the end of the shoot. He was, across the board, just an incredible actor. He’s so professional, but he’s also just fun and light and a good guy. »

This Bale-focused joint-interview by Watiti, Hemsworth, and Tessa is so worth it's salt, I'm cross-posting it both here and on the Legacy board - Industry Mentions.
Transcription:
Q: What does Christian Bale bring into the Thor universe?
CH: Exactly what you'd want, hope and expect. It's nuance, complexity, depth, a sort of quirkiness to it, which I didn't see on the page. And, with any sort of classic villain, the fact that you find yourself empathizing or asking questions that they're asking, ideas that they're posting, it's not just stock standard sort of evil villain.
TT: Yeah, you would root for them sometimes.
CH: Which is great if you're playing the hero and everybody is rooting for the villain.
TW: I'd say he's the most sympathetic villain that they've had. He's also tested the highest out of any villain that Marvel's had.
Q: What was it like working with him?
...
TT: It's your source of pain that manifests as your villainry. And he captures that so well. And he was also so surprising, you know. Like he would just make choices that you would be like, oh, that was so fun to watch, and such dexterity and also what he did with his body, and he's really in it, in the way that you would assume Christian is. But he also has a sense of humor about it.
TW: Yeah, he's a great actor. And the only other thing he has done is this film called Empire of the Sun and that was his last job.
TT: Yeah, he hasn't worked in a while.
TT: And it's been an incredible journey for him, just to kind of to help him restart, re-kickstart his career.
CH: He's very choosy with his projects. It's taken him a long time to dive into something else."
