From The New York Times Janet Maslin review: - [H]ere's the oddest part of the whole project: the Swing Kids conceit turns out to be the film's best aspect... The dance episodes, impressively choreographed by Otis Sallid, are indeed staged with furious energy. And in this context the jitterbug does take on a subversive tone... But the film, having established the legitimacy of its subject, tends to go embarrassingly overboard at times.
- As directed by Thomas Carter and shot mostly in Prague, "Swing Kids" looks good and moves quickly at first; later on, mired in familiar-feeling moments, it flounders. The film is noticeably weaker in scenes involving grown-ups than in those centering on the teen-agers themselves.
- Cast with personable, good-looking young actors who have been dashingly costumed by Jenny Beavan, "Swing Kids" eventually begins to suggest that any gathering of sensitive adolescent characters can begin to feel like "Dead Poets Society" after a while. Mr. Leonard, who was one of the stars of that film, brings an appealing gravity to this one. Mr. Bale... is well matched with Mr. Leonard.
These two are convincing as good friends...____________________________ I really enjoyed Swing Kids. Bale and Leonard were both great in it. The film was certainly let down by hokey sentimentality at times. But it's certainly enjoyable while it lasts. Dance sequences are infectiously energetic. You feel like replaying them again and again!

From the Entertainment Weekly review: ew.com/article/1993/03/12/swing-kids/[T]he movie is a somber, smoothly crafted drama about a wily adolescent who senses there’s something rotten going on in his country but can’t quite put a finger on it.There's no Bale mention. The reviewer gives the film B-.

These seem to be rare promotional pictures for the film. Currently no idea of the source:
