The 2007 Christian Bale was once designated the Perfect Man by scientific measurement criteria by a study at Poland's University of Gdansk! THe research was reported in the science and technology section of the independent.co.uk. The webpage no longer exists. However, I found a version of the page via Internet Archive's Way Back Machine. Here's the full text of that article. World's most beautiful couple: and the figures to prove it By Roger Dobson Published: 11 March 2007 It is the holy grail of the fashion and beauty industries: a scientific blueprint for the most beautiful women, and men, in the world. Researchers have thrown away the old vital statistics and, instead, focused on how the dimensions of different parts of the body relate to height and body mass index (BMI) to give the perfect physique. Perhaps surprisingly, two of the most important measurements are the girth of the thigh and the slimness of the calf. The researchers, from the University of Gdansk in Poland, studied the vital statistics of 24 finalists in a national beauty competition, together with those of 115 other women. They said that while weight, height and hip ratio were normally used to assess female attractiveness, these might not throw up crucial differences between the super-attractive and others. For men, scientists said height, BMI, waist-to-hip and waist-to-chest ratios were key measures. Super-attractive women had a thigh-to-height ratio some 12 per cent lower than other women, giving them a more slender look. Skinfold tests on the calf showed 15mm of fat compared with 18mm in other women. The study also showed that the average super-attractive height was 5ft 9in, with the waist 76 per cent of the size of the chest, and 70 per cent of the size of the hips. Models built like Naomi Campbell came closest to the ideal. "Attractiveness of a woman's body is one of the most important factors in mate selection, and the question what are the physical cues for the assessment of attractiveness is fundamental to evolutionary psychology," said Leszek Pokrywka, who led the study. Perfect woman: Naomi Campbell The vital statistics: Body mass index 20.85 Bust girth to height 49.3% Waist-chest ratio 1.4 Leg-to-body ratio 1.4 Calf girth to height 19.5% Height 175cm Thigh girth to height 29.7 What it all means: "Super beautiful" women have waists a third smaller than their hips and three-quarters their bust measurement. They have longer legs, and slimmer thighs and calves than the average woman. Perfect man: Christian Bale The vital statistics: Body mass index 26.5 Waist-chest ratio 0.6 Leg-to-body ratio 1 Height 188cm What it all means: The physically ideal man is more than 6ft tall, with legs the same length as his upper body. The leg-to-body ratio of 1 makes him appear more muscular, which is why the ideal BMI for men is higher than for women. ______________________________ That was 10 years ago! Bale, alas, no longer has that figure, but I think in this thread we could do with a few of his pics dated from 2007. Am I right?

Christian Bale reference in Drake's song "Views". Read lyrics at genius.com/Drake-views-lyricsI don't get the meaning though. EDIT: Gong back to it after some time, I think he's referring to when Bruce Wayne takes his "day car" for a public event in The Dark Knight.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau discussing how it felt acting when his character lost his hand on Game of Thrones: www.vulture.com/2014/05/nikolaj-coster-waldau-game-of-thrones-chat.htmlBut it was a nightmare acting like it was a stump! I had to hide my own hand in my crotch or down my ass. It was tricky.
At least you didn't have to go Method!
[Laughs] I'm sure [showrunners] Dan [Weiss] and Dave [Benioff] would prefer that. It'd be easier! But it's one of those things, "Yeah, um, can't do that. I love you guys, I appreciate this, I love this show, but nah, I don't think so." I'm not a Method actor, that's the thing. Christian Bale would have done it, but I'm not going to go there! [Laughs.]

The Vulture report on the Out of Furnace trailer: Out of the Furnace Trailer: Casey Affleck Is Always Batman’s Brother, Never Batman
Do you think while shooting Out of the Furnace, Casey Affleck tried to glean some inside info about being Batman from Christian Bale for Ben? Or maybe they were too busy making this super intense movie. Like we saw in the first trailer, the stakes are high and the cast (Woody Harrelson, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard, Willem Dafoe and Forest Whitaker) is great. Directed by Crazy Heart's Scott Cooper, the film opens on December 6, giving us a week before American Hustle comes out and we can only picture Bale as a Tony Clifton look-alike.For interest sake, here is Tony Clifton*: * He was a character created by late Andy Kaufman.

Josh Norman, the cornerback for Washington Redskins, is obsessed with Bale's Dark Knight: www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/josh-norman-is-the-dark-knight-on-the-field-a-son-of-rural-south-carolina-off-it/2016/07/22/dc655282-4471-11e6-88d0-6adee48be8bc_story.html?utm_term=.150e8301fd99Josh Norman is the ‘Dark Knight’ on the field, a son of rural South Carolina off itNorman’s brother Phillip took issue with Beckham’s [*a rival player] actions and how he has responded since. “We weren’t raised to respect that,” Phillip said. “Especially since he gave them no apology.”
Phillip continued: “I just see the things [Beckham is] doing — the dancing and the Michael Jackson stuff — and none of that is Greenwood. You can’t do all that and then try to be this whole ’nother, different guy on the field. That’s the different thing about my brother. He’s always been a trash talker, so he’s always been that guy. For him to take it to the field, it’s okay. He can play through it. You see somebody that carry themselves and be somebody they not, they can’t play through it. And you seen that in [Beckham’s] play. He’s not that guy. Don’t be that guy. He wants to be Joker. Is he really the Joker to the Batman? That’s what he wants to be.”
“Batman” refers to Norman’s “Dark Knight” persona. It started in college and grew over time with his infatuation with the superhero and Christian Bale’s performance in the movie of the same name. Norman becomes this alter ego when the lights turn on and the cameras watch his every move on the field, in the locker room and during an interview. A minor in dramatic arts, this is Norman’s stage.
“The Dark Knight” also draws out his dark side on the field to break his opponent mentally between the lines.
“I see through people in a way that it’s just the competitive side of me I guess that feeds off their bitter side,” Norman said. “Sometimes I get blood drunk, when I get drunk into the game. It’s like I’m on a bottle of straight Adderall aggression and fire. I’m out of it. I’m seeing red. I see it and look at it, and it’s just like, ‘Yeah, I know I got you today because of your armor or your flinch.’

Just found this about Bret Easton Ellis's novel Glamorama: If you are familiar with the work of Brett Easton Ellis, you will be pleased to know that the American Psycho himself reappears very briefly in the new book Glamorama. The main character of Glamorama is in a bar when he spots Patrick Bateman in the room. He says that Bateman has a strange stain on his cuff and an even stranger look in his eyes. That is all.
There is also a character in Glamorama who we are constantly told, looks exactly like the actor Christian Bale. Funnily enough, Christian Bale plays the part of Patrick Bateman in the film version of American Psycho!via The Easter Egg Archive.

A very interesting piece exploring the links between Bale's Bruce Wayne and Jesus roles: From Top 5 Pop-Culture Characters Who Are Secretly Jesus by J.M. MCNAB on Mar 27, 2013

5. Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight Trilogy
If there’s anybody who knows how to bear a cross, it’s Bruce Wayne. He’s a billionaire by birth, he has way cooler toys than everybody else, and yet he’s still all mopey about what it means to be a hero. The guy has to save everyone’s life and he won’t be happy until he dies doing it! Sound familiar? Well he looks familiar too, at least if viewing 1999’s Mary Mother of Jesus. This made-for-TV movie features Christian FUCKING Bale as the redeemer of the human race and was originally supposed to feature Madonna (who takes her name from the Mother of God and would later sleep with a guy named Jesus) as the titular virgin, before she dropped out in an unprecedented display of taste.
There are a lot of elements in the Dark Knight Trilogy ripped straight from The Bible; the whole being betrayed by your people thing, the classic dying-and-then-coming-back routine, the weird dad issues– but perhaps the most damning evidence that Bruce Wayne is in fact Jesus? Mark 14:48-50…
Mark 14:48-49 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?… but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
50 Spake the Lord unto his apostles; “Thy either dieth a hero or livest long enough to witness thineself become the villain.”
But just how did Bruce Wayne get back to 30 AD? You might think Lucius Fox has been cooking up a time machine at Wayne Enterprises? Of course, the truth is Morgan Freeman is, in fact, God… I’m assuming it’s the same ‘Bruce’ from Bruce Almighty.

From an interview of Henrik Lundqvist, a former goaltender of the New York Rangers: www.nytimes.com/2011/01/09/nyregion/09routine.htmlI like to go to the movie theater — Lincoln Center, the big one with the Imax. It’s more about the actors: a lot of times they are the difference between whether it’s going to be a good or a bad movie. Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington and Christian Bale are my top three. It could be anything: comedy, action, thriller.
