i have little doubt bale and cooper will collaborate for a third time in the future but will it be for valhalla? not according to their representatives. hard to say anything about the project as pretty much all we have on it is the title. would be pretty cool if it were a viking movie.

this article about the launch of a new media production company named "vandal" mentioned scott cooper as well as valhalla: cooper also has a bio on vandal's site which mentions the exact same thing written above but there's also a different page that has this to say: i guess it's unclear if cooper informed vandal of an upcoming project or if the production company just ran into the collider article about valhalla and decided to mention it in his bio. i would imagine it's the former since the said article is so speculative that it serves as hardly more than a rumor. cooper also has bunch of different projects he's attached to yet only valhalla is mentioned.
maybe this is the film were bale's playing a musician. the name valhalla doesn't exactly conjure up an image of a music related movie but i suppose it could be the name of a band.

Really hoping Scott Cooper can up his game BIG TIME. Otherwise, he doesn't deserve an out-of-the-world talent like Bale for yet another project. I mean Hostiles was certainly superior to OoTF, but still wasn't able to stand out in any major way except for Bale's performance.
I'm guessing he's working on that story now, Could be reworking it if it indeed is the musician one, because Bale told Matt Damon that they are waiting to see if he can learn to play the instrument, implying that there could be differences in story details if he cannot master it...

the way i see it is that if it wasn't for people like cooper, russell or mckay we'd be getting a lot less films featuring CB than we are now. bale's someone who'd rather be spending time with his family than shooting movies so it takes something a bit extra to get him interested and working with friends is one thing that appeals to him. as much as i'd like to see him collaborate with various directors more often, at the end of the day i'm just glad we don't have to wait two or three years between a new bale film. and even though cooper's films aren't top tier bale's acting in them certainly is and i enjoy seeing the more subtle performances cooper gets out of him.

Plus let's not forget that he happened to miss out on a bunch of key projects from pure circumstance. The Jobs widow threatening both Leo and Bale for considering the Jobs movie, the Travis McGee film due to the knee injury... the Ferrari film not happening the way we had assumed it would (at least we got FvF out of whatever that was...). I have to say that whatever other projects he has clearly passed on in the last 10 years, Everest, Triple Frontier, etc, none of them proved to be special and would have proven a waste for him. So I agree with The Low Dweller above. The projects with his friends have given some awesome performances with a good track record at the Oscars. Let's just hope that Cooper is able to up his game so the film surrounding his awesome Muse is similarly Awesome None of his contemporaries currently (except Leo of course) can boast a track record quite such as his, not even Joaquin in my opinion, so we should be happy in the final analysis

if you look at bale's filmography postman batman begins....yes..there are few big time failures like exodus or terminator salvation or even flowers of war,..there are also some experimental movies that didn't quite work out like knight of cups BUT out of all the movies that didn't quite work, it's failures like out of the furnace and hostiles that are unnecessary.
Working with ridley scott and terrence malick is attractive enough to endure a failure. BUT something about his movies with scott cooper doesn't feel worthy of his time to me. I would rather have a failure like inherent vice than out of the furnace.
I honestly feel like scott cooper is using bale to make movies he wanted and avoid making run of the mill forgettable studio movies. But unfortunately I don't think he have it in him to make awards caliber movies. After this many tries there is no chance he will succeed in that arena. You either have it or you don't. You don't make a gangster movie and then a western and then a gritty crime drama after the first one didn't work out. He was only allowed to make the movie because bale said yes not because of his reputation or talent.
Even leo dicaprio, as picky as he is about the directors he choose to work with, rejected paul thomas anderson but choose to work with adam mckay only because his last 2 movies are major oscar nominees. So I honestly don't see this movie doing any better than any of the run of the mill netflix movies that release every week. I am certain that it is a netflix movie.

there's a financial investor on twitter who shared some details about this movie:
- it's tentatively titled "Valhalla" - bale will play the lead
- currently scheduled to start shooting in late 2023 for a 2024 release
- cross creek pictures is the production company - scott cooper is producing though no mention if he'll also be directing and writing but i would imagine that's the case

So apparently, among other stuff, Scott Cooper is also planning a remake of the classic movie "Time Out" starring CB? Jordan Ruimy's write up from back in JAN, 2023 on this: www.worldofreel.com/blog/2023/1/vopu96jq87pbuplr29l4tb30vb1q38"Someone needs to free Christian Bale from the grips of Scott Cooper. They’ve so far collaborated on “Hostiles,” “Out of the Furnace” and “Pale Blue Eye,” but have failed to make much of a dent with these critically and commercially. And yet, a fourth collaboration is on its way, this time they’ll be collaborating on a remake of Laurent Cantet’s great 2001 film “Time Out.” That’s what Cooper seems to have confirmed on a recent appearance on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast “Time Out” is Cantet’s best film, yes, even superior to his Palme-winning “The Class,” and tackles an unemployed man who finds his life sinking more and more into trouble as he hides his situation from his family and friends. It’s pertinently relevant to today’s economic troubles, so it does have that going for it. In the WTF interview, Cooper adds that he doesn’t just have the “Time Out” remake on the horizon, but some other projects lined up with Bale in the near future. So, expect a fourth, fifth, maybe even sixth Bale/Cooper movie. They seem to love working with each other and here’s hoping it does eventually translate into a great movie one day."
