Yip. Time for Bale get some new director friends š„³š honestly I never thought CB would be interested by working in a Marvel movie .One month ago,he continued to say he didnāt work again in a comic movie. My bet is if he does this movie ,it is because of the directorĀ It would be a nice change for him. Iām thinking maybe he kids want him to be in a marvel film as well

Of course, that's the reason and that's why we should all be happy!

jeff sneider, who originally broke the story, said he first heard about bale being up for thor before the holidays which means that the talks have been ongoing for a few weeks now. i have no idea how long these usually take.
some youtuber also claimed to have inside sources and said that bale had been offered two roles and could choose between beta ray bill and the silver surfer. what both of these claims have in common is that according to them bale's up for two different parts. but then the guardian is reporting that bale's in talks to play cul borson aka the god of fear. hard to take these as anything but speculation at this point. dario agger would probably fit well into the story if it takes place on earth which could be the case since the asgardians are now living there and jane foster will have a prominent role in the film. assuming that they go with jane's cancer storyline (which in the comics was a part of the narrative where she became thor) they can perhaps draw parallels between that and the enviromental pollution agger's company causes. apparently agger is patrick-batemanesque. personally i'd like to see bale play someone more fun. not quite jeff goldblum in ragnarok kind of fun but not your typical corporate sociopath either. but then waititi could easily rewrite the character to be more comical.

Ugh hate to be a downer but if heās not Beta Ray Bill then I have zero interest. He will be wasted into a lame villain. Cate Blanchett is a great actress but her character was nothing special. I want Bale to be an interesting and fun character like Beta Ray Bill. I really liked his motion capture performance as Bagheera Also Iām not a fan of Jeff Sneider. He always seems like heās against Bale during awards season. Heās an annoying prick overall who likes to be a contrarian.

jeff sneider talks about breaking the story on his newest podcast. starts talking about it around 03:30 into it. he doesn't really add anything new but does say he thinks the negotiations are further along then when you would typically report on a story like this.

He always seems like heās against Bale during awards season. Heās an annoying prick overall who likes to be a contrarian. personally, i don't want to see bale as a cgi character. and i'd rather have him play a full on villain instead of someone who first goes up against thor and then later they unite to fight on the same side, which to my understanding is what happens with beta ray in the comics. i just think that type of dynamic has been done a lot in the thor films with loki who always finds a way to redeem himself by the end of each movie. it's also been so long since we've seen bale play a proper antagonist that i long for it. i do agree that blanchett was wasted in ragnarok. if hela had been played by a lesser actress she would've been much more uninteresting. and the asgard storyline was the weakest part of the film. it was the kind of generic stuff we got in the first two thor films. but i would imagine after the success ragnarok had at the hands of waititi he's going to have more creative freedom on the new one. at least on imdb he's credited as the sole writer for love and thunder where as on ragnarok he didn't even get a writing credit. so i'm expecting more originality on this one.

it's quite odd that the director of the film doesn't know what role bale is in talks for, isn't it? especially when the discussions have been going on for a few weeks now. he has written the script, right? there's only about seven months before filming starts. it'd be quite late in the game to start writing a first draft now. assuming what this guy tweeted is correct i guess there could be some reasons why waititi would say he doesn't know what role bale is up for: 1) maybe taika was deflecting. bale's not confirmed for the film so waititi doesn't want to reveal anything ahead of time and giving an answer like that was an effective way to not get any more questions about it. 2) could be that bale really has been offered the chance to choose between two different characters in the film and he hasn't yet made his decision. 3) perhaps bale will only do a cameo in the film to set up a new character that will then go on to have a film of his own and kevin feige hasn't yet informed taika what character/type of a cameo it'll be. 4) taika's not party to the discussions. maybe feige wants to court big stars for the marvel films and if the actors show interest the directors of the films don't get to decline their involvement. first two options seem more likely. it's just difficult to believe that waititi wouldn't be privy to bale's role. haven't they sat down to discuss taika's vision for the film and how he thinks bale would fit into it? i guess one possibility is that adam mckay has somehow talked bale into playing the silver surfer (mckay has expressed interested in directing a silver surfer film) and feige and/or mckay think the character should be introduced in this thor film. still, a puzzling situation.

We all know what Bale is like though. He will think about it and then eventually will say āitās not for meā which must be frustrating to some directors because Iām sure they have a glimmer of hope only to be let down. I remember he exited out of W, Ferrari for Michael Mann and Steve Jobs among others.

I'm really hoping this time he says yes though. The offer creatively must be attractive enough for him to be even considering. Even a mocap role, may be disappointing to the fans, but we know he likes those and for his kids' sake might do it. The only reason I want him to say yes is it bodes well for his future collaborations with a wider roster of directors than what he's currently stuck himself with. A Marvel appearance could be yet another turning point in his career purely for those reasons.

Plus it would be nice to see him in a successful major motion picture where he can attract more fans. He still gets a lot of shit for Batman which is annoying

Plus, I have a feeling he would be interested in working TW. The guy is a very unique film maker and Bale seems to gravitate towards that.

Tessa Thompson just confirmed in an Entertainment Tonight interview that Christain is on board as a Thor villain. Should I start a new Thor thread as his upcoming movie? I think I'm gonna wait until an official announcement. http://instagram.com/p/B9aQ-3WAyJj

scott cooper says he and bale are going to be working together again at some point but he doesn't know exactly when.
there was also a rumor that bale's wanted for andy serkis' animal farm. i guess it's plausible but the source of this news doesn't seem the most reliable.
