When things or persons become part of popular culture, their name is often used in different ways to 'idiomize' an expression. Bale is no different. While "Bale Out" has come to refer to any rant resembling The Great Bale Rant c. 2009, to 'go all Christian Bale' is also often encountered standing for different things. This thread is for all such pop cult references.

From a 2014 NYTimes' critics' talk referencing Dan Stevens' performances in A Walk in the Tombstones and The Guest: op-talk.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/10/01/the-studs-and-duds-of-the-oscars-preseason/... he’s gaunt, darker, sharpened-up in all kinds of ways, with burning eyes that suit the part quite well. Looking at some still from “The Guest,” it looks like he transformed himself for that one, too, but in a more bulked-up direction — going Christian Bale on us, I guess, to prove what kind of range he has. I’m not prepared to anoint him the next Bale, but I’m less skeptical than I would have been if I hadn’t seen him in “Tombstones.”
