Walking Out is a father and son story that recently screened at Sundance. According to this profile of the film's producers Smith brothers, Bale briefly considered playing a role in the movie: As far as father Cal, the Smiths were close to casting Christian Bale, but when the actor became a new father he was not eager to spend six weeks in remote locations. And because Wiggins, the boyish actor who turned 17 during filming, could convincingly play 14 for only so long, Bale reluctantly dropped out.NOTICE OF CORRECTION: In the original posting, I had mistakenly named Last Days in the Desert as the name of the project. Thanks to The Low Dweller for the correction!

Last Days in the Desert is a drama on Jesus. According to this profile of the film's producers Smith brothers, Bale briefly considered playing a role in the movie: As far as father Cal, the Smiths were close to casting Christian Bale, but when the actor became a new father he was not eager to spend six weeks in remote locations. And because Wiggins, the boyish actor who turned 17 during filming, could convincingly play 14 for only so long, Bale reluctantly dropped out.actually the article says he was offered matt bomer's role in walking out not last days in the desert. this appears to be yet another man vs nature film that bale hasn't gotten to do along with the revenant and everest. there's a good chance we'll get to see him in a movie like that in the near future. i believe the father/son film bale mentioned in the past was creed of violence. bale said he first didn't realise they offered him the role of the father but instead thought they wanted him to play the son but in this film it's very clear that bale couldn't play the son since they needed someone who could pass for a 14 year old.
