TIFF is Sep 7-17 On the TIFF page where they list movies it's in SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS 2017 Hostiles | Scott Cooper, USA International Premiere link... but on the film's own TIFF page it says Canadian Premiere. Hmm? - EDIT: later changed to International there, too. And 127 minutes. linkEither way, not World Premiere. So, there's: Telluride Sep 1-4 Venice Aug 30-Sep 9 I'm not well-versed on film festivals, so no further comment at this point.

I'm confused, will it be in TIFF and Telluride or just in TIFF?

Only TIFF announced it, so that's certain, Telluride is maybe (films there not announced, yet, but other people have concluded it will be in Telluride). What I can gather is that since it's listed as "International Premiere" (=premiere outside home country) - now changed to that also on the movie's own TIFF page - it's not actually the World Premiere (like The Promise was at TIFF). It is confusing, yes, but should clear up soon.

World premiere or not, this is good news. Fingers crossed for good reception. I think we'll get a trailer after tiff screening. Have the tiff ppl announced the screening dates yet?

Also i think its reasonable to expect Bales's presence, nah? He's free afterall. Cheney doesnt film till later, nothing else in the pipeline that we know of... It would be his first attendance, no?

Was not he there at the premiere of The Promise? Yes, I would expect his presence, absolutely. I can't imagine why he wouldn't go, unless for some reason he really can't. And yes, he was there for The Promise. So, the World Premiere will be earlier, in the US, guess we'll hear about that soon).

So... (according to those who watched the live announcement of the Venice film festival lineup; if anyone finds this in print in an article or something, please post) Venice film festival / its director Alberto Barbera really loved, and tried to get, Hostiles, but didn't manage, interesting. The World Premiere expected to be the beginning of September in Telluride. Pete Hammond of Deadline also mentiones a potential CB tribute in Telluride ( ): source - Deadline
